Kim Nam Gil underwent yet another intense transformation in the new drama Island.
Based on the popular comics/webtoon of the same name, TVING original show Island follows the journey of characters who have the destiny to fight against the evil that is trying to destroy the world. On the 2nd, TVING unveiled the still photos of Kim Nam Gil as Ban.
Ban has endured thousands of years to fight against the evil “Jeongyeomgwi” that attacked the mysterious island of Jeju. He’ll be asking questions about the true meaning of life with Mi Ho, who finds herself at the center of fate, and Yohan, the youngest exorcist, as they seek a way out of the ruthless law of causation.
The released photos show Ban exuding a dark charisma. In particular, Kim Nam Gil firmly holds onto the Geumkangjo, the legendary sword, and radiates the determination he’s built over the thousands of years that he’s endured all by himself with just one goal – kill the Jeongyeomgwi.
The production team shared, “From the first day of filming, Kim Nam Gil not only showed delicate research of the character but also completely disappeared into the role, portraying the Ban character three-dimensionally. Please look forward to the performances of Kim Nam Gil, who’ll lead the drama Island.”
Meanwhile, Island will premiere on the 30th.
