Weekly TV Top 10: Is Song Joong Ki’s New Series ‘Reborn Rich’ Starting the New Craze?

Drama Ranking for the 3rd Week of November

The new JTBC series Reborn Rich debuted at No. 1. You could say that the passionate performances of the cast, including Song Joong Ki, Lee Sung Min, and Kim Kang Hoon, absorbing plot that involves time-traveling, and the unconventional decision to air three episodes a week all came together to work wondrously. The show surpassed the 10% viewership mark in episode 3, becoming the first JTBC drama to achieve the feat in a long time. According to Rakuten Viki, it swept the number one spot in 50 countries including the US, UK and France. tvN’s Under the Queen’s Umbrella saw a rise in its popularity compared to the previous week, but it still fell to second place. Grand Prince Seongnam (Moon Sang Min) was chosen as the next crown prince, and the conflict between the queen (Kim Hye Soo) and queen dowager (Kim Hae Sook) drew favorable responses. SBS’s Cheer Up stayed in third place. Do Hae Yi (Han Ji Hyeon) and Park Jung Woo (Bae In Hyuk) finally shared a kiss after a long detour, gaining explosive reactions from viewers. tvN’s Behind Every Star rose up the rankings to No. 4. Viewers especially sympathized with the episodes about Kim Soo Mi and Seo Hyo Rim’s mother-in-law and daughter-in-law conflict and Claudia Kim‘s parenting. SBS’s The First Respondents came in fifth. Though the fast-paced story that mainly centers around the incidents is met with praises, viewers expressed disappointment over the overall faulty settings and Kim Rae Won‘s role that comes out to be rude. tvN’s Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow came in sixth even before its premiere set for next month, proving people’s anticipation for the show. ENA’s new drama Summer Strike, starring Lim Si Wan and Seolhyun, also ranked 10th before its premiere.
