Ju Ji Hoon, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Hee Joon, Lee Moo Saeng and Park Ji Yeon will be starring in the new sci-fi drama slated to premiere in 2030.
Dominant Species (literal title) is set in a world where humans only eat lab-grown meat and revolve around mysteries involving the heads of the genetic engineering company BF Group, which dominates the cellular agriculture sector. This upcoming show is a new project written by Lee Soo Yeon who also penned Stranger, Grid and Life.
Ju Ji Hoon plays a Navy Academy graduate named Woo Chae Woon, who was once a soldier and now a bodyguard. Han Hyo Joo takes the role of Yoon Ja Yoo who is the founder of BF Group.
Lee Hee Joon stars as Prime Minister Soon Woo Jae who began his political career as a secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Lee Moo Saeng will join the cast as On San, a BF Group’s founding member with a Ph.D. in biotechnology. He is in charge of developing technology for cell culture medium. Park Ji Yeon takes on the role of lawyer Jeong Hae Don who is also the head of planning for the BF group.
Dominant Species will begin its filming later this year.
