Gong Hyo Jin and Shin Min Ah recently graced the September issue of Vogue Korea magazine.

The duo gathered to celebrate the re-release of Sisters on the Road at the 24th Seoul International Women’s Film Festival. The screening is all the more meaningful as the movie will be playing at the same festival where it had its initial premiere 13 years ago.

Gong Hyo Jin shared, “I realized there weren’t many female-centered films back then. I came to think that quality movies should be preserved and that I’m grateful to be a part of such a film with Shin Min Ah.”

She added, “It’s very nervewrecking to watch a film I shot long ago. I cannot sit through it as I constantly find mistakes I made back then. But I decided to watch it anyways as it might be the last time I get to watch this on a big screen. If the movie gets a re-release in theaters, I would love to secretly go and watch it someday.”

Shin Min Ah also shared what she was like back then when she was filming the movie. She said, “Back then, I was eager to prove myself as an actress, and I thought Sisters on the Road was a good movie for me to experiment with many things. So I contacted the director first and asked if I could join the project.”

Listening to them, the film’s director Boo Ji Young showed her affection toward the actresses. She said, “They are true gems. I’m grateful they haven’t changed a bit from 13 years ago and are the actresses I knew back then. They’ve become two excellent actresses through multiple projects, which motivates me as a filmmaker.”
