Amid the fierce viewership battle between the weekend dramas, Our Blues took the lead in the “online views” category.
According to Smart Media Representative (SMR), Our Blues has exceeded the cumulative views of 6.2 million. SBS’s Again My Life and JTBC’s My Liberation Notes, the two TV shows that premiered around the same time, followed the chart with 720,000 and 830,000 views, respectively. MBC’s Tomorrow, which premiered a week prior to the other three dramas, recorded 2.6 views.
Our Blues is the new drama by writer Noh Hee Kyung, whose credits include That Winter, The Wind Blows and Live. The show tells the couples’ stories in an omnibus format against the backdrop of Jeju Island.
The first two episodes revolved around Choi Han Soo (Cha Seung Won) and Jung Eun Hee (Lee Jung Eun), who reunited on Jeju Island after 20 years. But even during these two episodes, other main characters of different episodes have also shown up. These characters include Lee Dong Seok (Lee Byung Hun) and Min Sun Ah (Shin Min Ah), who scarred him in the past, and mysterious haenyeo Lee Yong Ok (Han Ji Min) and Park Jung Jun (Kim Woo Bin), a captain who likes her.
From teasers to recaps, all of Our Blues videos have garnered an impressive number of views, dominating the top 20 most-played videos. Among all the clips, Lee Byung Hun and Shin Min Ah’s kiss scene has exceeded 290,000 views.
