While Mnet’s Queendom 2 confirmed its premiere this year, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon was tabbed as the main host.
On Tuesday, the production team shared, “After successfully debuting in the music industry as a member of Girls’ Generation in 2007, Taeyeon, dubbed the never-failing vocal queen with her colorful and rich world of music, has been one of the top solo artists in the industry for 16 years.”
They continued, “Taeyeon is a musician who has led the global K-pop trend and has a wide fandom at home and abroad. Above all, she is the role model for the younger girls. So she will not only act as the main host of the show but also play various roles.”
Queendom 2 will begin filming next month.
Meanwhile, the first season of Queendom, released in 2019, had the six artists release a song on the same day at the same time to compete on the music charts. The groups’ splendid performance in every episode became a hot topic. In fact, the show’s popularity led to the launch of Road to Kingdom and Kingdom: Legendary War.
