Cosmopolitan released its photoshoot and interview with Squid Game star Lee Yoo Mi for its December issue.
In an interview following the photoshoot, Lee Yoo Mi was asked what she enjoys about acting. “It’s different every time and no matter how much I study acting, there’s no end to it. It’s a lot of fun studying people because although everyone looks similar, they really aren’t. When I first analyze a character, I gather all the facts about the character based on the script, and then I dive into her desires and deprivations,” explained Lee Yoo Mi, as she shared her take on character analysis.
Lee Yoo Mi also shared her humble thoughts about her fame, saying, “I was working part-time for Coupang Eats when the public began showing interest in me. It was astounding, but I tried not to bask in my popularity because I still had a lot of things to do. These days, I’ve been trying hard to not lose myself in this popularity.”
When asked about her chemistry with Squid Game star Jung Ho Yeon and Hani from Young Adult Matters, she shared, “I’m the type to approach people first and try to get to know them, and I did exactly the same with both of them.”
Lee Yoo Mi hinted at her villain character in the upcoming Netflix series, All of Us Are Dead, which is scheduled to premiere in January of next year. She remarked, “The people who have seen my acting tell me that I’m so despicable.”
