Park So Dam appeared on MBC’s Radio Star and talked about the story behind her casting in Parasite.
Park So Dam revealed that she had gone to the audition with no makeup on. She explained, “Director Bong Joon Ho wanted to cast us (Choi Woo Shik and Park So Dam) as siblings and asked us not to dress up when coming to the audition. We both decided to show up without even washing our hair. Aas soon as he saw us, he was very satisfied. I really didn’t know we looked alike at the time, but when I saw pictures of us later, I could see the resemblance.”
Park So Dam expressed her gratitude towards Choi Woo Shik saying, “I will be forever grateful to him because he was cast first and I was only able to join the cast because I looked like him. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be able to star in Parasite.”
When host Ahn Young Mi then asked, “Does your younger brother look like Choi Woo Shik?” Park So Dam replied, “Yes. My entire family of five have the same eyes.”
Veteran actress Kim Yong Ok commented, “I love how your eyes are unique. They’re very pretty.”
