On Wednesday, Kim Jong Kook took his YouTube channel’s community post to reveal that he kept his promise to donate his YouTube profits. “It’s a bit late, but I made my decision carefully, hoping that my donation would be used for a good cause.” He then explained that he had donated all the proceeds, excluding the production fees.

The singer continued, “As this is a donation that I made with all of your support and sincerity, I hope that you also feel rewarded. I hope you have a healthy daily life. Thank you once again to all our subscribers for sharing good deeds.”

According to the photos he released together, the star donated 50 million KRW (about $42,817) to Samsung Medical Center and 20 million KRW (about $17,127) to Sejong General Hospital. His donations will help the patients facing financial struggles and young patients with heart problems.

Back in July, Kim promised his subscribers to donate all his YouTube profits. “I’m going to donate all the profits generated from the 5 videos uploaded this month, excluding the production fees,” he wrote at the time. “I thought that if the interest and love received can lead to good deeds, the positive influences of those who love exercising can be even more meaningful and shine brighter than ever!”

Meanwhile, Kim opened his YouTube channel “Gym Jong Kook” in June. The channel garnered 1 million subscribers within a week, impressing the fans. As of today, the number has reached 2.13 million.
