JTBC’s new series ‘My Liberation Diary’ (literal title) confirmed its full cast – Lee Min Ki, Kim Ji Won, Son Seok Koo, and Lee El.
My Liberation Diary tells the story of three siblings and a mysterious stranger who wants to escape their frustrating lives. The Detective K series, The Light in Your Eyes, and Law School director Kim Seok Yoon helms the production with My Mister and Another Miss Oh writer Park Hye Young.
Lee Min Ki plays Yeom Chang Hee, the second son who has no dreams and desires. He wants to live a wonderful life of his own, but his family won’t approve of him. Though he may sound simple, his words are often strangely very logical.
Kim Ji Won plays Yeom Mi Jung, the younger daughter who wants to break away from her colorless life. To her, who was born shy, life is nothing but complicated homework. One minute she’d be smiling, and the next minute she could be awfully quiet. Yeon had lived her entire life thinking that she was alone in the whole universe. But wanting to be freed from a life that has never been filled, she starts to change.
Stranger Goo, played by Son Seok Koo, is a drunk man who is never sober. He’s a mysterious man that showed up in Sanop Village, where people leave but don’t come back in. One day, Mi Jung suddenly approaches him, who is living a hollow life.
Lee El takes on the role of Yeom Ki Jung, the eldest daughter who desperately wants to fall in love. Commuting to Seoul every day for her work, she thinks she spilled all her youth on the road. She’s completely dissatisfied with her life and wants to cut off her loveless life just she would cut her hair. But before that, she is dead set on falling in love with a man for one last time.
Meanwhile, My Liberation Diary will premiere next year.
