According to an insider, the actress finalized her choice not to join Netflix’s original series Queen of the Scene.

In response, Gong Hyo Jin’s agency clarified their position on the report about her rejection of the offer. They claimed that this is, in fact, “not true.” An individual related to Management SOOP informed Newsen on April 2nd, “She is still under review for the Netflix original Queen of the Scene.”

The show is about Kim Ma Ri, the screenwriter who happens to fall into her own ‘makjang’ series. It illustrates the process as the protagonist attempts to leave the story world. Previously, Gong Hyo Jin was offered Kim Ma Ri’s role, the mega-hit writer, and was under discussion to play a part. (Translator’s Note: ‘Makjang’ refers to stories or plotlines which are extreme, unrealistic, ridiculous, or aloof. It usually includes plot twists such as birth/family secrets, acts of revenge, terminal illnesses, deaths, etc.)

Lee Won Suk directs Queen of the Scene after his work in How to Use Guys with Secret Tips. Some Like It Hot and Whatcha Wearin’? screenwriter Kim Soo Ah writes the script.

In related news, Park Ha Sun is now reviewing her role offer for Oh Soon Shim, Kim Ma Ri’s soap opera’s main character.
