Kwon Yuri opened up about her character in MBN’s Bossam: Steal the Fate (aka Bossam).
In MBN’s 10th-anniversary special Bossam, the actress plays Soo Kyeong, the princess born between Gwanghaegun of Joseon (Kim Tae Woo) and Yoon (So Hee Jeong).
Kwon Yuri explained, “Soo Kyeong is a driven character who paves her way through a series of incidents.” She revealed the reason for attempting her first historical series, “I was captivated as she (the character) grew from and through unexpected events.”
“When faced with adversity, she also comes across a point of inflection in her life. However, Soo Kyeong does not break down but gradually breaks away from the mold to be more liberated. From this, you will be able to see the vibrant charms of hers,” she added. Yuri further elaborated that she will be dressed as a man and practicing Korean archery.
Of director Kwon Seok Jang, the actress said, “I was excited to work with a director I admired. We’ve been having enjoyable conversations since the first meeting until now. Thanks to his delicate directions, Soo Kyeong will be able to come to life as a multi-dimensional character.”
MBN’s Bossam: Steal the Fate is a romantic historical series set in the Gwanghaegun era of the Joseon Dynasty. It will start its season on May 1st at 9:40 PM KST on both MBN and Wavve.
