Park Joong Hoon apologized after he got caught driving under the influence yesterday.
On Sunday, Park Joong Hoon’s agency, Namoo Actors, released an official statement. They stated, “We apologize for raising concerns with unpleasant news.”
According to the statement, Park drank with two of his friends on the 26th. And around 9 PM KST of the same day, they split up into two vehicles driven by designated drivers and headed to his friend’s house nearby.
However, the actor sent back the designated driver and grabbed the wheel from the parking lot entrance. After parking the car, he fell asleep behind the wheel.
“The police arrived at the parking lot. Park Joong Hoon returned home after faithfully participating in the police investigation, including submitting the black box. Also, the designated driver made a statement on the actor’s behalf,” the agency wrote. “We deeply feel responsible for the incident regardless of the reason. And the actor is reflecting on himself.”
The Gangnam Police Station stated that they investigated Park Joong Hoon on the 26th at 9:30 PM KST. The charges were driving about 100 meters from the parking lot entrance to the underground parking lot under the influence. At the time, Park’s alcohol level was around 0.08%, which is high enough to result in administrative charges.
Park Joong Hoon was caught drunk driving in 2004. The police revoked his license then.
