The global attention is focusing on the dating scandal between Big Bang’s G-Dragon and Blackpink’s Jennie. Earlier today, Dispatch exclusively reported that G-Dragon and Jennie have been romantically involved for a year now. Soon after the report came out, YG Entertainment released their official position, saying, “It is difficult for the company to confirm the artists’ private lives. We ask for your understanding.”
In fact, it is said that the two artists’ close acquaintances were well aware of their pink mood. A source close to the two told SPOTVNEWS, “They never hid their relationship. They introduced each other as boyfriend and girlfriend to their friends. I think it was just a bit burdensome for them to admit their relationship considering various situations.”
Another acquaintance added, “It won’t be easy for them to admit their love affair since they are artists of the same label and senior and junior in the music industry. Also, I don’t think neither of them wants the nickname ‘XX’s boyfriend or ‘XX’s girlfriend.’”
In the case of G-Dragon, he had been embroiled in dating rumors a few times before but never once admitted to any of them. He explained his choice through Radio Star, saying, “Admitting the relationship or not is a personal matter, but considering from the lady’s position, the dating rumors hurt the female more than male. I know people have the right to know, but I don’t have an obligation to inform them.”
An acquaintance told Dispatch, “Quite a few people from YG know about their relationship. Jennie’s mother is also aware of her relationship with G-Dragon, and she appreciates his special care for her daughter.”
What you do in your private life is private = why is there an obligation to let other people know. I don’t understand that logic.
It is no one’s business except for those directly involved. Entertainers do not owe us their private life.
