GOT7’s First Song Out of JYPE Turns Out Successful, Topping Charts in 42 Regions

GOT7’s new song “Encore” swept various charts both back at home and abroad as soon as it was revealed.

All seven members including JAY B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, and Yugyeom made a surprise release of the digital single “Encore” on February 20th. The team’s new song instantly topped iTunes’ Worldwide Song Chart on the first day of its release.

It also topped iTunes Song Charts in 42 different regions around the world including but not limited to, Spain, Brazil, Chile, France, Mexico, and Singapore. GOT7 once again proved their undying global popularity. In particular, the group also managed to put their name on the first place of the U.S. Chart, being the first K-Pop group to do so.

The song also showed great power on major music platforms in Korea, ranking first on Genie Music’s real-time chart, Melon’s ‘Latest 24Hits’, and Bugs Music’s real-time chart. GOT7’s “Encore” contains messages members wanted to tell IGOT7s (fan-club name). The song conveys a message about how they want to continue singing for their fans, just like its title.

The song is the first group song released by GOT7 as a whole since their contract with JYP Entertainment ended. It demonstrates how sincere and the extraordinary love of GOT7’s members are, as they have worked together to keep their promises to fans despite their busy schedules.
