SM Entertainment has revealed that they will take legal actions with a zero-tolerance policy against malicious comments towards Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon. On the 31st the company announced, “As soon as we finish collecting information about the illegal activities, we will file a complaint through our legal representative, the Kim & Chang law firm.”
Taeyeon has previously responded to the dating rumors with Ravi, saying that they were only close seniors and juniors working on a song together. However, as rumors about the two spread amongst online communities through SNSs even after her explanation, they seem to be preparing for legal actions.
SM Entertainment said, “False information about Taeyeon, malicious accusations and slanderous posts are spreading frantically. This damages an individual and their reputation and inflicts a considerable amount of mental pain to artists. To protect the artists, we are collecting data related to illegal activities online.”
The company added that it will continue to monitor and take legal measures in order to protect its artists. They plan to take firm actions against various illegal activities, with zero tolerance.
