2021 will be spectacular since its start. As big starts and rising stars are both expected to make comebacks, they heat the music industry up for its start in 2021.
Rain and the chief of JYP, Park Jin Young had hold hands. Previously as a teacher and a student, the two had formed a duo to start 2021 extravagantly. To be released on December 31st, “Switch to Me” is a song that reenacts New Jack Swing, an iconic dance genre of the ‘90s, with a powerful 8-bit rhythm and analog sounds.
Epic High will be released their 10th full-length album Epik High Is Here 上 �on the 18th of January. It is a full-length album they’re releasing in 3 years and 3 months after WE’VE DONE SOMETHING WONDERFUL �back in 2017. This album will consist of 2 versions, which are ‘上’ and ‘下’ (First half, second half).
U Know Yunho is preparing a solo album intending to come back in January next year. A passionate performance is expected, as this would be his second solo album in a year and 7 months after his first mini-album True Colors, which was released in June of last year.
Super Junior is also making a comeback in January. Though originally planned to present the 10th full-length album The Renaissance �this month, they postponed the release of their album to January due to the influence of COVID-19.
Promising stars who brightened the future of the music industry will also be making moves one after another. First, YG Entertainment’s TREASURE will announce their first full-length album THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT �on the 11th of January. As a full version of THE FIRST STEP, this album expresses the group’s determination to shake the world up as they present how a simple discovery can contribute to the development of humanity.
On January 11st, (G)I-DLE is also making a comeback in 5 months with I Burn. It is anticipated what vibrant charms (G)I-DLE will provide this time, as they are proved to be a talented group with unique concepts and an experimental spirit.
JYP’s ‘monster rookie’ ITZY will comeback with an all-English album in January. This album will consist of English versions of previous releases such as “Not Shy”, “WANNABE”, “ICY”, “DALLA DALLA”.
CRAVITY will also be releasing a new album on January 19th. �It is a comeback in 5 months after their 2nd mini album HIDEOUT: THE NEW DAY WE STEP INTO – SEASON 2 �back in August. Debuted last April, CRAVITY attracted the hearts of global fans as they presented powerful energy and dynamic performances.
Chungha, who halted all activities after being confirmed with COVID-19, has also hinted at her January comeback. As much as she is a self-made female solo artist who has both singing and performing abilities, expectations for her first full-length album are high.
