Kim Junsu, also known as Xia Junsu, opened about the time he left TVXQ.

In EBS’s EBS Reserved Seat (literal title), which aired on Dec 30, singer and musical actor Junsu appeared as a guest.

Recalling the time he left TVXQ, Junsu shared, “Going through some big changes after I left the group, I’ve lived a secluded life for about a year. I was scared. Whenever I would turn on the TV, people would be talking about us, and reporters surrounded my house to find me. I was just terrified to go outside. It felt like everyone was speaking ill of me.”

“An entire year passed like that. In fact, I had to ponder over if I could continue my activities, even my music career. I had no idea where to start or how to start,” he added. “But I was offered a musical called Mozart! by chance. I refused at first. I was too daunted, and challenging a whole new stage terrified me as signing in front of my fans came difficult to me.”

Junsu said, “And at the time, singers or idols rarely performed in musicals. So there was this unfavorable view (of me trying musicals). Of course, it’s different nowadays.”
