Merry Christmas CEO Yoo Jeong Hoon said, “Space Sweepers‘s storytelling is premised on the idea of expansion through various content such as series movies, spin-off video contents, as well as webtoon and game. Considering the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, the fact that the boundaries between the existing milieu of content distribution and digital is breaking down, and the fact that we can no longer postpone the release to lay the foundation for high success in the global market by spurring subsequent super IP expansion, we chose Netflix as a way to best present Space Sweepers to domestic and global audiences.”

Netflix said, “We are pleased to announce that Space Sweepers will be released on Netflix in more than 190 countries at the same time. Amid the continued cooperation between Netflix and the Korean creative community, we are inspired by the growing interest in Korean films worldwide. As Korean content in various formats and genres, including dramas and movies, are loved by fans around the world, we expect Space Sweepers to become another hot sensation.”

Space Sweepers, which proudly challenged the SF blockbuster genre, will be released in 190 countries with subtitles in 31 languages through Netflix.
