Mnet’s Kingdom will begin filming next January!
According to multiple industry officials, Mnet Kingdom will begin filming next January and will prepare to broadcast the series. After filming in January, the show is expected to premiere the following month in February.
According to JoyNews24, members of the production team notified multiple entertainment agencies that filming would begin in January and that the series will air in February.
An Mnet official revealed, “In preparation for Kingdom, which will air its first episode early next year, we have been contacting various labels.” The official declined to share information regarding the first filming and premiere date.
Kingdom is the boy group version of the girl group survival show Queendom, which was aired last August. In the first half of 2020, Mnet launched Road to Kingdom, a show that decides which groups get to appear in Kingdom. Boy group THE BOYZ caught the attention of the audience after winning the show. The group showcased unique performances and broke personal records by charting high on various music charts. THE BOYZ is expected to appear in Kingdom following their win.
Kingdom was originally planned to broadcast in the second half of 2020. Mnet decided to postpone the show indefinitely due to complications caused by COVID-19.
