Go Min Si is returning to the big screen with a new role.

MyDaily reported on January 13th that Go Min Si has confirmed her appearance in the upcoming film titled Moral Family and is preparing for her first shoot.

Moral Family depicts the lives of a bizarrely dysfunctional family. The story centers on a woman who has supported her siblings for 13 years by working at a bar, an older brother with alcohol addiction, a younger sister who works as an adult content streamer and a younger brother who runs away from home after coming out as gay. The family is thrown into further chaos when their mother, who abandoned them 15 years ago, suddenly returns.

Go Min Si will play the lead role of Kim Seon Ji, the de facto head of the household. Kim Seon Ji is described as a character with a charming appearance but a tough exterior—cold and rough-spoken, yet delicate and prone to tears.

This marks Go’s first leading role since the 2023 hit Smugglers and follows her critically acclaimed performance in last year’s The World of Love.

Moral Family originated as a stage play in 2018 and drew attention for being fully funded by top actor Jung Woo Sung and produced by actress Kim Sun Young.

For the film adaptation, director Lee Seung Won of Three Sisters will take the helm. The main cast is scheduled to hold a script reading on the 16th, with filming set to begin next month.
