Miihi, a member of JYP Entertainment’s Japanese rookie girl group NiziU, will take a break from her activities due to her poor health condition.
On October 23, JYP Entertainment posted a notice on NiziU’s official website, saying, “Miihi has continued to suffer from deteriorating health conditions recently, and after consulting with a doctor, she was advised to take time off to rest and recuperate. So we have decided to put Miihi’s health first and allow her to focus on recovery. We ask for fans’ understanding.”
They added, “Miihi is slowly recovering with constant treatment. We would appreciate it if you could cheer and encourage her so that she can greet her fans again with a smile on her face as soon as possible. We will notify you again when Miihi’s condition improves enough for her to resume promotions.”
NiziU released their pre-debut digital mini-album Make You Happy in Korea and Japan. With this album, they became the first girl group in J-pop history to accumulate 100,000 downloads with the digital album and surpass 100 million views on YouTube.
Meanwhile, NiziUwill release their debut single Step and a Step in Japan on December 2.
