Two members of a boy group have been booked on charges of overseas gambling.
According to MBC’s Newsdesk, two boy group members were booked by the police for gambling overseas. It is shared that their boy group earned massive success and fame in Japan.
The report revealed that these two idols, who are both in their 30s, gambled as much as 50 million won on Baccarat while visiting a certain casino in the Philippines between 2016 and 2018. One of the idol members also gambled online.
The police investigated the two men last week; they said that they did not travel to the Philippines with the goal of gambling and that they simply happened to gamble by chance while they were overseas.
An official from their agency said, “We do not know about this story. You will have to confirm with the two men directly.”
Newsdesk also revealed that one of the members tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year. Netizens have speculated that the two idols are members of the group “Supernova,” especially since this group promoted primarily in Japan. Yoonhak, a member of Supernova, previously tested positive for COVID-19 as well.
The police are currently investigating if any others were also involved in gambling.
