The prosecution has demanded a five-year prison sentence for a 30-year-old comedian Park Dae Seung, arrested and indicted for installing illegal cameras in a ladies’ room in the KBS building.
In a final trial on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes and breaking into multiple places for sexual purposes, the prosecution asked the court to order a five-year prison term, release of personal information for five years, and restrictions on employment at institutions related to children and youth and welfare institutions for the disabled.
The prosecutor’s office said, “It was a premeditated and elaborate crime of installing a hidden camera, and it was done over a long period. It was a crime against colleagues who had trust in him. Victims also want severe punishment,” citing the reason for the sentence.
Acknowledging all of his charges, Park apologized to the victims in tears, saying, “I am truly sorry for those who suffered. To prevent future repeat offenses, I will receive any punishment, including psychiatric treatment and educations,”
Park was put on trial for allegedly entering women’s restrooms and locker rooms in KBS Research Center in Yeouido, Seoul, 47 times from October 2018 to May this year, and attempting to shoot or actually shooting in person, as well as installing filming devices.
It has been reported that Park has installed cameras, but the investigation revealed that he had also taken pictures in person inside the ladies’ room.
