In August, Wonho received worldwide love with his pre-released song “Losing You.” And on September 4, Wonho released his official mini-album. Love Synonym #1: Right for Me, which conveys his promise for his fans, not only topped the iTunes chart in Korean upon its release, but also topped iTunes K-pop Album charts in 20 countries.

This is Wonho’s interview about his new album, Love Synonym #1: Right for Me.

Q1. How do you feel about coming back with your first solo album?

It’s good to be able to express things that I’ve never got to before. I am happy that I am repaying my fans who have waited for a long time with my own music. I saw the fans’ reactions after the album’s release, and they wrote so many amazing things that I’m walking on a cloud these days.

Q2. What kind of album is Love Synonym?

I chose the title as Love Synonym in a sense of showing the new beginning of artist Wonho. I also took the pledge to actively communicate with fans by giving a new definition to love. For that, I worked with producers from around the world and released the album simultaneously in Korea and the U.S.

Q3. What other non-title tracks do you want to recommend besides the title track?

I would like to recommend a pre-released song called “Losing You.” I loved it from the moment I first heard it, so naturally, I recorded it first when I was preparing for the album. Because it contains a message that wanted to convey, I wanted to let you hear it asap. I wanted to send this message to my fans all over the world, so I prepared it in two versions, English and Korean, so I hope you like it.

Q4. What was your main focus in writing, composing, and producing?

The focus was on what fans would like and my message to them. It was my first solo album, and I wanted to repay my fans who waited for a long time. Whenever I worked on the song, I thought of my WENEEs.

Q5. What do you want to say to your fans?

The mini-album that I have prepared for a long time to meet you is finally out. I will try my best to repay the time you waited with my own music and create new beautiful memories. Love you all.
