In tvN’s weekend drama, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Seo Ye Ji plays the role of Go Moon Young, a storybook writer with antisocial personality. Although she suffered from abuse by her parents when she was young, she hid those pains behind her fancy clothes and supercilious behaviors.
And Seo Ye Ji perfectly pulled off this complicated character. She was fascinating but somewhat creepy, impulsive but hot and cool. She never backed away and went straight when she was hooked on something, which gave the viewers a strange pleasure. The birth of a unique female lead character has captivated viewers, and Seo Ye Ji, who showed flawless performances, is receiving rave reviews.
Go Moon Young’s life, which was like an empty can, was filled with love after meeting Moon Kang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun), and finally, she became someone who can wait, miss, love, and cry. Although Go Moon Young was clumsy, Seo Ye Ji’s performance of portraying the changes was mesmerizing. She added an unexpected comedy element to his romance with Moon Kang Tae, and also added a chill to the play by recalling memories of her mother.
Seo Ye Ji’s styling is also drawing keen attention. Go Moon Young uses flashy and exaggerated outfits and hairstyles as a “self-defense tool.” Though it might be hard to follow it in reality, her luxurious fashion caught the eyes, which led to a parade of sold-outs of things she wore.
