SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan to Take a Break From Promotions After Suffering a Ruptured Ligament in His Ankle

According to Pledis Entertainment, SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan recently suffered an ankle injury while practicing his choreography. The hospital diagnosed the injury as a left ankle ligament rupture and began treatment last Saturday.

The following is the official statement from Pledis Entertainment:

Hello. This is Pledis Entertainment.

This is an official announcement regarding SEVENTEEN Seungkwan’s injury.

SEVENTEEN Seungkwan recently suffered an ankle injury while practicing his choreography and was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment and examination. The exact name of the injury is ‘left ankle ligament rupture,’ and Seungkwan began surgery last Saturday upon the doctor’s recommendation.

Seungkwan completed his surgery and is currently working hard to stabilize his condition and recover. He will be taking a break from schedules and will focus on his condition and recovery.

Going forward, we will put all of our efforts into Seungkwan’s treatment and rehabilitation so that he can make a full recovery. In order to protect our artists, we are letting you know in advance that Seungkwan will temporarily suspend his activities and focus solely on his recovery. We ask you for your understanding.

In addition, SEVENTEEN will promote as a twelve-member group until Seungkwan makes his recovery.

We sincerely apologize for the worry and inconvenience this has caused our fans. We prioritize our artists’ health and will do our best to make sure Seungkwan returns to his healthy state as quickly as possible and meet fans once again.
