New JTBC Drama ‘Graceful Friends’ Falls Short on Viewers’ Expectations

Graceful Friends started off with a 3 percent viewership.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of JTBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama Graceful Friends, which aired on July 10, recorded 3.197 percent viewership nationwide.

Graceful Friends is a mystery drama that deals with the story of 20-year-old friends and couples who face the sudden crack on their peaceful lives with the sudden death of a friend.

But is it because the expectations were too high? Neither the production nor the script nor the acting were up to expectations. The scenes for laughter were not funny, and the tension dies in the part where it needs to be built up. To say that it will be the next hit drama of JTBC following SKY Castle and The World of the Married, everything is not up to the standards.

Meanwhile, the 7th episode of SBS’s Backstreet Rookie recorded 4.8 percent and 6.6 percent viewership nationwide.
