X1 Has Come to an End After Discussion Amongst Companies

After going through much controversy of vote manipulation from Mnet‘s Idol survival program ‘Produce x 101‘, the companies of X1‘s members came to the unfortunate conclusion of the group’s disbandment on January 6th with the following statement:

Hello, this is Play M Entertainment, Yuehua Entertainment, T.O.P. Media, OUI Entertainment, MBK Entertainment, Woollim Entertainment, DSP Media, Starship Entertainment and Brandnew Music.

After much negotiation between the members of X1 and their companies under the condition of unanimous agreement, an agreement was not reached and have thus decided on their disbandment.”

The group was to be formed by the votes of the viewers of ‘Produce X 101‘, but was later revealed to be rigged even before the final episode had aired. CJ ENM and its CEO, Heo Minhee, issued a public apology for the scandal stating that they would give up on all the profits earned by the groups created through the show, and that they would compensate the trainees who had been affected by the vote manipulation.
