Cho Yi Hyun is looking forward to returning to Netflix’s All of Us Are Dead Season 2, admitting that the long wait for the sequel has nearly brought her to tears.
The actress spoke with Newsen in an interview in Seoul ahead of the release of her upcoming film Final Interview on November 2nd.
Set to hit theaters on November 4th, Final Interview follows six job applicants gathered for a final interview. The candidates begin to question each other and find themselves caught in a tense and confusing situation when they discover mysterious envelopes containing revelations about one another.
Cho Yi Hyun plays Moon Hye In, a character who appears to take a step back but is the first to act when it matters. As she competes with her teammates for the only available position after a month of group discussions, she calmly observes their reactions to the mysterious envelopes and makes her own decisions.
When asked how she related to Moon Hye In’s experience of going through a job interview, Cho said, “I’ve always been evaluated throughout my life, so I could relate to her.”
She continued, “I graduated from an arts high school, so I had already gone through interviews since high school. It was the same when I applied to college. I’ve had so many interviews throughout my life that I naturally found myself connecting with the character.”
Cho was also asked whether she had any personal tips for interviews. “I’m a complete believer in fate. I believe in destiny,” she said.
“When I was auditioning a lot early in my career, I used to check my daily horoscope. Even if I didn’t get the role, I would tell myself, ‘It was probably not meant to be,’ so I could stay at ease. I try not to get too excited when I’m happy or get too caught up in sadness when I’m sad. I think I rely on luck more to keep my emotions balanced.”
Meanwhile, Cho recently played a high school student in the drama Summer Vacation, which premiered on Wavve on October 26th. She laughed as she said, “Being able to wear a school uniform at 28 is a privilege.”
Cho also shared an update on All of Us Are Dead Season 2, which is set to premiere on Netflix next year.
“Season 1 came out in 2022, so it will have been six years by the time Season 2 comes out next year. I’ve waited so long that I could almost cry,” she said.
She also revealed that her character’s circumstances will change in the upcoming season. “In Season 2, the characters will have taken off their school uniforms and will be 20 years old.”
