Kim You Jung was unable to stop crying even after filming an emotional scene for tvN’s 100 Days of Deception, with co-star Park Jin Young holding her and gently patting her back until she regained her composure.
tvN released a behind-the-scenes video from Episodes 5 and 6 of the drama, including footage of a rain-soaked scene in which Kim breaks down in Park’s arms.
In the drama, Lee Ga Kyeong (played by Kim You Jung) witnesses the death of Geum Seok Jung (Gam Woo Sung) and finally lets out her pent-up emotions while being comforted by Sato Hideo (Park Jin Young). The moment is particularly significant as Ga Kyeong, a spy tasked with winning Hideo’s affection, reveals her genuine feelings in front of him for the first time.
However, Kim remained overcome with emotion even after director Yoo In Shik called cut. Rather than stepping away, Park continued holding her, gently patting her back and giving her time to recover.
The moment drew enthusiastic reactions from viewers, with comments including, “He kept hugging her even after they called cut? Are you kidding me?” “Got butterflies in my stomach just watching these two,” “No wonder her acting is so impressive,” and “The way his eyes immediately softened after cut should be illegal.”
Meanwhile, Episode 6 of 100 Days of Deception achieved the drama’s highest ratings to date, recording a nationwide average of 9.5% and a peak of 10.4%, according to Nielsen Korea.
