Ahn Eun Jin has opened up about suffering facial paralysis while filming JTBC’s The Good Bad Mother.
Appearing on the September 13th episode of Jung Jae Hyung’s YouTube show “Fairy Jae Hyung,” the actress looked back on some of the difficult moments she has faced throughout her career.
Recalling her time filming The Good Bad Mother, Ahn said, “I developed facial paralysis. One day, I was washing my face and brushing my teeth when water started leaking from one side of my mouth.”
She continued, “I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with facial paralysis. I thought it would get better after resting for a few days, but it kept getting worse, and I became so depressed and sad.”
Ahn said she underwent treatment with acupuncture as well as high-dose steroids, but her condition did not improve quickly.
“It wasn’t getting better, and because of the side effects, even going for a walk would make my face and knees swell,” she recalled. “It was difficult to stay positive, and as the drama went on, I ended up looking increasingly swollen.”
Ahn Eun Jin is currently starring opposite Seo Kang Joon in KBS’ weekend drama A Love Other Than Yours.
