Ryeoun is heading back to romance.
The actor has been cast as the male lead in the upcoming drama The World of Dating, based on the hit Naver webtoon of the same name.
The romance series follows Se Wool, a woman who declares she’s done with dating — only for three men to suddenly enter her life for the first time ever.
Shin Se Kyung had previously been in talks to play Se Wool, but ultimately decided not to join the project after careful consideration. She is instead preparing to return with another romantic comedy, Love Virus. Casting for the female lead role is currently ongoing.
Ryeoun has continued building momentum with a string of standout performances. Last year, he starred alongside Go Hyun Jung in ENA’s Namib, before leaving a strong impression as Park Hoo Min in Netflix’s Weak Hero Class 2. Earlier this year, he also took on the role of a serial killer in Disney+’s Bloody Flower.
The World of Dating is currently in the middle of casting its remaining leads.
