Netflix’s upcoming series The WONDERfools has unveiled its character posters and first teaser, giving fans a playful peek at its offbeat superpowered crew.

Set in the late 1990s, the comic adventure follows a group of unlikely neighborhood misfits who suddenly gain superpowers—and must band together to protect their city from looming villains.

The newly released character posters present the team as collectible-style “cards,” each highlighting their abilities at a glance. Park Eun Bin’s Eun Chae Ni leaves behind afterimages mid-teleport. Cha Eun Woo’s Lee Un Jeong commands attention with his intense telekinesis, while Choi Dae Hoon’s Son Gyeong Hun clings to surfaces with his sticky ability. Meanwhile, Im Seong Jae’s Kang Robin delivers a mix of seriousness and confusion after punching straight through a wall.

The teaser leans into that chaos from the start. It opens with Chae Ni, Gyeong Hun, and Robin casually peeling onions on the street, while Un Jeong sits off to the side, clearly trying to distance himself from the group. As he pretends not to know them, the trio keeps provoking him, setting a comedic tone.

At the same time, the clip teases their messy adjustment to their new abilities. Chae Ni can’t seem to stop teleporting at random, Gyeong Hun finds his hand stuck to a refrigerator, and Robin accidentally blasts a hole through a wall just by tossing a can. In contrast, Un Jeong’s powers take on a more serious edge—he’s seen stopping a falling car mid-air and freezing bullets, hinting at a larger threat behind the scenes.

The teaser closes on a more ominous note, with the line, “The apocalypse is nigh!” flashing over scenes of people praying and the group attempting to come together as a team—building anticipation for what’s ahead in their city.

The WONDERfools premieres exclusively on Netflix on May 15th.
