Park Seo Joon is set to reveal one of his most earnest and grounded performances yet.
Premiering December 6th, JTBC’s new weekend drama Surely Tomorrow stars Park Seo Joon as Lee Kyung Do, the devoted but ordinary deputy editor of Dongwoon Daily’s entertainment desk—a man who is unfailingly sincere when it comes to love. His everyday routine is shaken when an unexpected incident reconnects him with his first love, forcing him to confront past joys, past heartbreak, and the emotional turbulence of the present.
The series marks Park Seo Joon’s first TV drama since Itaewon Class, drawing significant anticipation. “It’s been five years since I’ve been on a drama that releases every week,” he shared. “I used to wait excitedly for shows that aired twice a week, and thinking I’ll get to feel that anticipation again makes me genuinely thrilled.”
Explaining why he chose Surely Tomorrow, he said, “For the past few years, I mainly worked on genre-heavy projects. This time, I was drawn to a story rooted in everyday life—something more people could relate to. When I read the script, there were many parts of young Kyung Do in his early twenties that resonated with me, and it felt meaningful to portray an entire span of a character’s life from youth into adulthood.”

Park Seo Joon describes Lee Kyung Do as “pure to the point of seeming a little naïve at times, but always steady and sincere.” Rather than leaning into visible transformation, he chose to maintain the character’s constancy. “I thought Kyung Do’s unchanging heart and attitude, even as time passes, were his biggest charms. I tried to add subtle shifts to things like voice and speech patterns, but I focused most on capturing the depth of his emotions.”
He closed by saying, “I hope viewers spend a warm holiday season with our drama,” heightening expectations for the show’s emotional impact.
Surely Tomorrow follows Lee Kyung Do (Park Seo Joon) and Seo Ji Woo (Won Ji An)—two ex-lovers who reunite years after two breakups, this time as a reporter who publishes an adultery scandal and the scandal subject’s wife. The JTBC romance premieres December 6th at 10:40 PM KST.
