Song Joong Ki got candid about his approach to dating.
On August 30th, Yoo Yeon Seok’s YouTube show hosted Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee, who appeared to promote their upcoming JTBC series My Youth. The trio ended up diving into a lively discussion on romance and friendship.
Yoo Yeon Seok kicked things off with a balance-game question: “Would you rather confess in front of the whole school or be confessed to?” Chun Woo Hee replied, “Not knowing whether the person actually likes me would be uncomfortable. And usually when I’ve been confessed to, it wasn’t by someone I liked. If I had to choose, I’d rather be the one confessing. Otherwise, it just feels embarrassing, and I don’t handle embarrassment well.”
Song Joong Ki agreed: “Same here. Confessing is better than being confessed to.”
The conversation then shifted to friendships between men and women. Yoo Yeon Seok asked, “Is it okay for a guy friend and a girl friend to go out drinking together, just the two of them?”
Song turned to Chun and teased, “So you wouldn’t be okay if the guy you’re dating has close female friends?” Chun responded, “Group settings, sure. But if a female friend suddenly calls him up with problems and wants to meet, I’d wonder why she’s asking him. Why not someone else? Honestly, if it’s really that serious, she could just ask ChatGPT,” she joked, drawing laughs.
Yoo added another anecdote: “One guest said she didn’t mind if her boyfriend drank with a female friend—but only if it was at 8 AM. She wanted him home by dinner.” Chun then pressed Yoo, “What if your girlfriend said she wanted to have drinks with a male friend, just the two of them—would you let her?” Yoo replied, “Even if I try to stop her, if she’s set, she’ll find a way. I’d just ask her to keep me in the loop.”
Song echoed the sentiment: “I’m pretty much the same. I don’t stress about it that much.” When Chun followed up, “What if she met him at 10 PM?” Song quickly replied, “Why would they meet that late? By 10 PM, you should be in bed,” giving a big laugh.
