Hwang Jung Eum has been hit with a provisional seizure request from her ex-husband, businessman and former professional golfer Lee Young Don.

Woman Sense reported on the 23rd that Lee’s steel processing and sales company, Geoam Core, filed a lawsuit against Hwang on March 27th, seeking the return of a loan amounting to 157 million won ($114,000). The company also filed a request for a provisional seizure of her real estate on April 17th, which the court approved on April 30th.

Woman Sense further reported that the seized properties are two units of an urban-style residential building in Seoul, which Hwang purchased in May 2013 for 1.87 billion won ($1.36 million). In addition to Geoam Core, another individual also filed for a 100 million won ($73,000) provisional seizure on the same property. As a result, Hwang is now unable to lease or sell the properties freely.

Hwang appeared at her first trial at the Jeju District Court on May 15th and admitted to charges of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. In early 2022, she received 700 million won ($510,000) from her then-agency under the guise of an advance and invested it in cryptocurrency. By the end of that year, she had allegedly embezzled a total of 4.34 billion won ($3.1 million), for which she has been indicted without detention.

Meanwhile, Hwang revealed she was undergoing divorce proceedings with Lee Young Don in February of last year. The couple got married in 2016 and have two sons. They filed for divorce in 2020, got back together for a while, but eventually ended their marriage.
