Han Ga In has shared her thoughts on certain perceptions surrounding her parenting style.
On the February 26th broadcast of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, Han Ga In appeared as a guest.
During the episode, Yoo Jae Seok asked the actress, “How do you spend your daily life?” Han replied, “Except when filming, I spend my time completely as a mother. I’m homeschooling my kids. One day, my first child said, ‘I don’t want to go to kindergarten, I want to spend time with you,’ so I said, ‘Let’s do that.’ Currently, my firstborn doesn’t go to kindergarten and spends 24 hours with me. I felt like I wasn’t spending enough time with my second child because I was caring for the first, so I’ve been playing hard with him.”
She then added, “I’d like to take this opportunity to say something,” before emphasizing, “People think I push my children extremely hard academically, but that’s absolutely not true.”
She continued, “My firstborn only goes to academies she wants to attend and tells me in advance. We had a promised period that we agreed to attend together, but after just two months, she said she really couldn’t continue. So I said, ‘We made a promise, so let’s go just two more times, and if it still doesn’t work, we can quit,'” sharing anecdotes about her children.
Han Ga In also revealed, “We never ever fight in front of the kids,” adding, “That’s because I know from experience how much that affects children. I don’t even roll my eyes at my husband in front of them,” showing her deep affection for her children.
Meanwhile, Han Ga In recently made private a YouTube video showing her day of picking her kids up from academies. This appears to be in response to malicious comments left on her riding video after comedian Lee Soo Ji parodied “Daechi Mom” (a term referring to education-obsessed mothers in Seoul’s affluent Daechi neighborhood).
Han Ga In married actor Yeon Jung Hoon in 2005 and has one son and one daughter.
