The cast of Coupang Play’s drama The Affair Was Just the Beginning recently showed off their undeniable chemistry.
During a recent appearance on the by PDC YouTube channel, stars Kim Hye Soo, Cho Yeo Jeong, Kim Ji Hoon and Kim Jae Chul opened up about their experiences working together on the show.
Kim Jae Chul kicked things off by talking about Kim Ji Hoon’s intense passion for fitness. “I actually injured my back while filming another project. When Ji Hoon saw a video and mentioned my back, I asked him how I could recover faster,” Jae Chul shared. “He gave me advice for an hour. He’s really serious about exercise. His eyes were different,” he added.
A bit embarrassed by the praise, Kim Ji Hoon explained, “I’m not someone who can do a lot of charity work, so I hope people can become healthier through the knowledge I have.”
Kim Hye Soo also expressed her deep affection for Cho Yeo Jeong, whom she first met years ago while filming Jang Hee Bin. She recalled meeting Cho Yeo Jeong for the first time and described her as “a beautiful baby” who looked like a doll, holding a fan and radiating charm.
She added, “She has grown into such a wonderful actress over the years. She took on a very challenging role in this project, but I found myself completely empathizing with Soo Jung as a viewer. Watching such a talented actress perform right in front of me was a truly valuable learning experience.”
The praise went both ways, with Kim Ji Hoon sharing how impressed he was by Kim Hye Soo’s dedication and incredible physique during filming. “Hye Soo eats a lot. You can see her silhouette in lingerie in the drama, but she doesn’t have even a hint of a stomach,” he said, admiring her figure.
Kim Jae Chul also compared Kim Hye Soo’s commanding presence to her iconic character Madam Jung from the film Tazza: The High Rollers. “It reminded me of Jung Madam,” he said, while playfully reenacting a memorable scarf scene from the movie.
Kim Ji Hoon echoed those sentiments, adding, “She is so slim and tall. Watching her made me think, ‘I still have a lot to learn about the human body.’ She has a physique that is beyond what I thought was possible, and that really impressed me.”
