Disney Plus has confirmed the release of A Man’s Man and unveiled a star-studded cast lineup featuring some of South Korea’s leading actors.
The popular Naver webtoon A Man’s Man is being adapted into a series. The story follows a man who loses everything overnight after becoming the CEO of a major corporation. He then travels back 20 years and starts over as a new employee, given a second chance to rewrite his life and create a new future.
The original story began as a web novel by Kim Tae Goong before being adapted into a webtoon in 2020 and released on Naver Webtoon. The webtoon A Man’s Man has surpassed 470 million cumulative global views and has been translated into multiple languages, including English, Japanese, Indonesian and Thai.
Park Jeong Min will lead the series as Han Yu Hyun. Yu Hyun rises from an ordinary employee to the youngest CEO of a major corporation thanks to his exceptional execution skills and sharp instincts. However, he loses everything overnight and returns to 20 years in the past as a new employee. With a second chance, he sets out to correct his regrets and create a different ending.
The Product Planning Team 4 at Hansung Electronics, where newly reinstated employee Han Yu Hyun begins his journey, is filled with unique and memorable characters.
Bae Seong Woo will play Deputy Manager Kim Hyun Min, a man with sharp insight hidden behind his seemingly indifferent personality.
Kim Ji Hyun, known for her role in D.P. Season 2, will portray Section Chief Choi Min Hee, a highly organized professional who successfully balances her career and family life.
Jung Moon Sung, recognized for his performances in series such as Hospital Playlist, will play Senior Engineer Kim Young Gil, a meticulous analyst with unwavering perseverance.
Moon Sang Hoon, who has gained popularity as both a YouTube creator and actor through works like Extraordinary Attorney Woo, will portray Deputy Park Seung Woo, Yu Hyun’s senior colleague who is hardworking but often struggles to achieve the results he hopes for.
Kim Min, known for A Shop for Killers, will play Lee Chan Ho, an enthusiastic employee who is always ready to help wherever needed.
The characters involved in the fierce internal power struggles and conflicts within the corporation also bring impressive star power.
Lee Jung Eun, known for her role in Parasite, will play Cho Chan Young, the influential Managing Director of the Product Planning Team.
Kim Seolhyun, formerly known as Seolhyun of AOA, will portray Manager Lee Kyung Hoon of the sales team, who becomes a sharp rival to Yu Hyun.
Lee Sang Yi, known for Bloodhounds, will deepen the drama’s tension as Kwon Se Jung, Yu Hyun’s colleague from his early days at the company who leaves him with lasting scars and regrets.
Lee Kwang Soo will make a special appearance as Chairman Shin Kyung Soo, the person Han Yu Hyun fears the most.
The series will be directed by Kim Hee Won, who previously helmed Light Shop. Ahead of filming, he shared his determination, saying, “We have prepared extensively. I am working hard to ensure that everyone involved can work happily. I hope we can complete filming with smiles and enjoyment.”
A Man’s Man is scheduled to be released worldwide exclusively on Disney Plus.
