Prosecutors have decided not to indict HYBE and BELIFT LAB executives in a criminal complaint filed by former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, which alleged obstruction of business, defamation and other offenses.

According to legal sources on June 11th, the Criminal Division 1 of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office determined on May 27th that there was insufficient evidence to support any of the allegations Min had brought against HYBE and BELIFT LAB officials.

Last year, Min filed a complaint alleging that HYBE had damaged her reputation and interfered with her work by publicly disclosing materials containing allegations about her and ADOR’s management, claiming the company had spread false information.

However, the prosecution concluded that the information in question could not be considered false. The decision reportedly took into account evidence indicating that Min had, in fact, communicated with a shaman regarding matters related to company management.

Prosecutors also dismissed the defamation complaint Min filed against BELIFT LAB. Authorities determined that videos released by the company in response to the controversy over similarities between ILLIT and NewJeans could not be regarded as containing false information.

The prosecution also concluded that HYBE did not violate the Information and Communications Network Act when it reviewed ADOR’s internal documents and messenger records as part of its audit. They concluded that HYBE’s actions fell within the scope of its lawful audit authority.

As a result, all major criminal complaints filed by Min against HYBE and BELIFT LAB executives have been dismissed, with prosecutors declining to pursue charges in each case.
