Hyeri is set to star in the lead role of the upcoming Korean remake of the hit Japanese series, Caution, Hazardous Wife.
Hyeri has been cast as Jin Ja Young, the drama’s main character, according to reports on April 7th.
The series is based on a 2017 Japanese drama of the same name. It follows a married couple hiding dangerous secrets: the wife is a spy living under a false identity, while the husband is a black ops agent for the National Intelligence Service. Once enemies, they now share a home and a bed while secretly hiding their true identities from each other.
Hyeri will play Jin Ja Young, a woman who enters marriage as part of her cover. Believing that “peace in the neighborhood means peace for me,” she takes matters into her own hands and deals with troublemakers before the police get involved. But things take a turn when she discovers her biggest threat may be her own husband, whom she thought was a model citizen.
This marks Hyeri’s first time playing a married character, as well as her first role as a black ops agent.
The script is written by Kim Ryu Hyun, who also worked on Switch – Change the World.
