A woman accused of repeatedly stalking BTS member Jungkook has been formally indicted, prosecutors confirmed.

According to reports on March 3rd, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office charged a Brazilian woman in her 30s with violations of South Korea’s anti-stalking law and unlawful entry after she allegedly targeted Jungkook.

Prosecutors allege the woman visited the BTS star’s residence 23 times between December 7th and January 4th. During those visits, she reportedly rang the doorbell hundreds of times, waited near the home and left letters and other mail for the singer. Authorities said she had already received an emergency restraining order from police in late December. However, investigators believe she returned to the residence again in early January, violating the order.

The woman is also accused of entering the property on December 13th. Prosecutors say she slipped inside through a side door after a food delivery worker briefly opened it to drop off an order.

Police initially arrested her at the scene that day. During questioning, she reportedly stated that she “only wanted to make her presence known” and did not intend to harm the artist. She was released after the initial investigation.

But her stalking didn’t stop. On December 28th, a staff member reportedly spotted the woman again near Jungkook’s home and alerted police, leading to an emergency measure that was later approved by a court. When the woman’s whereabouts became unclear, police requested an arrest warrant on January 28th. Prosecutors later secured the warrant, and she was arrested on February 10th before being formally detained on February 13th.

During questioning, the woman reportedly acknowledged most of the facts but claimed her actions were motivated by her love for Jungkook and not by any intent to cause harm. Prosecutors nevertheless concluded that the conduct constituted stalking and unlawful entry and moved forward with the indictment.

Police said CCTV footage appeared to show the woman attempting to enter Jungkook’s residence seven times between December 7th and December 27th by pressing the door lock keypad and pushing or pulling on a side gate. Investigators initially referred the case with an additional charge of attempted unlawful entry, but prosecutors dismissed that allegation, determining that the CCTV footage did not sufficiently confirm the claims.
