A company linked to Cha Eun Woo quietly changed its registered address on the same day local officials conducted an on-site inspection at a Ganghwa location tied to his family, officials confirmed.

According to Ganghwa County authorities, an inspection was carried out on the 26th at an eel restaurant address operated by Cha Eun Woo’s mother, where one of the singer-actor’s limited liability companies had been registered.

“There was no office, no furniture, and no facilities that would allow business operations to take place,” a county official told Ilgan Sports on January 28th. “It was difficult to view the space as a functioning office.”

The restaurant, opened in 2020 under his mother’s name, operated for roughly five years before closing for renovations last July, shortly after Cha enlisted in the military. The business has remained closed since, with renovation work reportedly suspended.

On the same day the inspection occurred, the company submitted paperwork to move its registered address to Gangnam District in Seoul. “The address change request was filed and processed that day,” a Ganghwa County official said.

Some earlier reports claimed the company was not registered as an entertainment management business, but officials pushed back on that narrative. “The company was properly registered, which is why the inspection took place in the first place,” one official explained.

Ilgan Sports reports that Cha operates two limited liability companies. The entity registered at the Ganghwa address was listed as an entertainment management business, while the second company was not.

The development comes amid an ongoing tax investigation. Cha was previously examined by the Seoul Regional Tax Office over alleged tax issues, with reports stating the National Tax Service recently notified him of additional taxes exceeding 20 billion KRW (approx. 14 million USD).

His agency Fantagio addressed the situation in a statement on the 27th, saying, “The matter is currently under review, with facts being confirmed according to tax authorities’ procedures. The agency and the artist are fully cooperating.” The agency added that it would “responsibly carry out any necessary actions once legal and administrative conclusions are finalized.”
