BTS is officially gearing up for their long-awaited full-group comeback — and they’re doing it on a massive scale.

On January 20th, Korea’s Cultural Heritage Administration confirmed that HYBE has received conditional approval to film comeback-related content at Gyeongbokgung Palace, Gwanghwamun, and the Sungnyemun area. The approval allows filming and large-scale visual events, pending a final review to ensure the protection of the historic sites.

The plans include pre-recorded comeback videos shot at Gyeongbokgung, likely on the palace’s weekly closure day, as well as nighttime media facade events projecting large LED visuals onto the walls near Gwanghwamun and Sungnyemun. The events are intended as a high-profile signal of BTS’s return as a complete group.

BTS is set to release its fifth full-length album, ARIRANG, on March 20th, marking their first group album in three years and nine months since the 2022 anthology Proof.

The group is also preparing large-scale live performances in central Seoul. HYBE has applied to use Gwanghwamun Square for concerts on March 20th, with additional shows under consideration for March 21st and 22nd, as well as a separate event at Seoul Plaza. If approved, it would mark the first time a single artist holds a solo concert at Gwanghwamun Square.

HYBE stated that the events would be livestreamed globally via an OTT platform to viewers in 190 countries, positioning the comeback as a world-scale broadcast on par with major international sporting events. Final approval for the performances is expected soon, pending safety and crowd management reviews by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
