Jisoo is officially heading to Netflix.
The BLACKPINK star will lead the upcoming romantic K-drama Boyfriend on Demand, co-starring Seo In Guk. Originally planned as an MBC series, the project has now made the jump to Netflix, which confirmed the move and announced a 2026 release as part of its upcoming slate.
Directed by Kim Jung Shik, Boyfriend on Demand is currently in production, with recent filming completed in the Philippines.
The series centers on Seo Mi Rae, a webtoon producer played by Jisoo, who wants love—but without the risk. Burned out by work and stuck in a nonexistent dating life, Mi Rae signs up for “Monthly Boyfriend,” a virtual dating simulator that lets users experience relationships with hundreds of men, no emotional fallout required. But when she’s surrounded by these unrealistically perfect partners, her long-buried desire for real romance starts to surface.
Seo In Guk plays Park Gyeong Nam, Mi Rae’s colleague and professional rival. Polished, capable, and emotionally distant, he makes Mi Rae uneasy—but beneath his cool exterior are unexpected secrets that slowly pull her in.

For Jisoo, the role marks another major step in her acting career. The singer-actress, a member of global phenomenon BLACKPINK, has previously starred in Snowdrop and Newtopia, with earlier guest appearances across several hit dramas. Seo In Guk, meanwhile, continues an especially busy run, with multiple projects lined up, building on his Netflix presence in Café Minamdang and his breakout role in Reply 1997.
With its mix of virtual dating, workplace tension, and slow-burn romance—and the added global reach of Netflix—Boyfriend on Demand is shaping up to be one of 2026’s most buzzed-about K-dramas.
