Lee Sun Bin found herself in a playfully awkward moment regarding her long-time boyfriend, Lee Kwang Soo, while hosting the 2025 MBC Drama Awards.
The ceremony, co-hosted by Lee Sun Bin and veteran MC Kim Sung Joo, took place on December 30th.
Lee Sun Bin had a big night, winning the Excellence Award for Actress in a Miniseries for her role in To the Moon.
“I’m not sure if I deserve to stand here,” she said in her acceptance speech. “But I am grateful to receive the Excellence Award today, eight years after winning the Rookie Award for Missing Nine. To the Moon was physically the most challenging project of my life, but beyond that, I was able to share my heart with many fellow actors.”
She thanked her agency CEO, her family, and her fans, and promised to work even harder. She did not specifically mention her boyfriend, Lee Kwang Soo, during the speech.
However, the topic of her famous boyfriend eventually came up. During a segment interviewing nominees for the Best Couple Award, Lee Sun Bin chatted with actor Kim Young Dae.
When discussing a potential “pledge” if they won, she said, “Kim Young Dae will soon enlist in the military. If we receive the Best Couple Award, I plan to visit him once.”
Seizing the moment, MC Kim Sung Joo playfully asked her to choose between Kim Young Dae and him. Lee Sun Bin quickly replied, “Kim Young Dae.”
Kim Sung Joo then asked the real question: “Kim Young Dae or Lee Kwang Soo?”
Lee Sun Bin bowed her head deeply, laughed, and cleverly dodged the trap by responding, “Kim Sung Joo.”
The couple first met on the set of Running Man in 2016 and went public with their relationship in 2018. They have been happily dating for eight years.
