Song Hye Kyo is sharing the story behind her striking short-hair transformation and her deep attachment to her upcoming project, Show Business (working title).
On December 16th, fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar Korea unveiled Song Hye Kyo’s latest cover shoot. The cover highlights her bright, fresh aura paired with an androgynous short cut that immediately draws the eye. Titled “Flower from Concrete,” the pictorial was shot against the backdrop of a modern white villa, capturing Song as a flower blooming amid stark surroundings. Now in her fifth year as a global ambassador for Fendi, she once again appears in the brand’s new 2026 Spring/Summer collection.
Following the shoot, Song Hye Kyo spoke in an interview about her affection for her next drama, Show Business, which reunites her with renowned writer Noh Hee Kyung. She discussed her character, Min Ja, saying, “Min Ja values success over love, and for that success, she will stop at nothing. She lives with the attitude that everyone in the world is beneath her.”

She continues, “Her journey from rock bottom to the top is truly turbulent. Watching her constantly struggle from a third-person perspective can feel heartbreaking on a human level. Sometimes, when I think about Min Ja at home, I even tear up.”
She also addressed her decision to cut her hair short for the role. “I believe a character really comes together once you start thinking about what that person’s style would be like,” she said. “The writer said that the Min Ja she had envisioned would probably have short hair, and she suggested a short cut. She was worried because it was such a drastic change for an actress, but for me, if it was a style that suited Min Ja, there was absolutely nothing to be afraid of.”

Song Hye Kyo also reflected on how she has learned to love herself more deeply, sharing that she began writing a gratitude journal with Noh Hee Kyung over the past five years. “When I’m working, I think about the role all day long, but when I’m not, I try to clear my thoughts as much as possible,” she explained.
“Instead, I stay busy making practical plans—what time to walk my dog, when to clean a room, what I need to get done by next week,” she added. “Of course, as a human being, there are days when I feel low. But because I’ve found my own ways to lift my mood, those down moments never last very long. Writing a gratitude journal doesn’t mean life is filled only with happy days, but I think I’ve learned how to love myself no matter what kind of day it is.”
