A Chinese influencer has sparked outrage after seemingly impersonating BLACKPINK’s Rosé, even going so far as to sign official merchandise at an event meant for the K-pop star.
The controversy unfolded earlier this month at an official Rosé pop-up store in China. According to a report by the Malaysian outlet Hype, an influencer known as “Daisy” was invited to the store’s closing event. While the pop-up and themed photo zones were meant to sell official merch, fans were left confused when the event host introduced Daisy as though she were the guest of honor.
Daisy arrived styled in an outfit strikingly similar to Rosé’s signature look, took photos with fans, and—most controversially—was seen signing autographs on official Rosé merchandise.
Fans quickly called out the behavior, saying the influencer had gone too far. “Her styling and actions clearly tried to imitate Rosé,” one fan commented, while others criticized the event for letting a guest “steal the spotlight” and confuse the attendees.
Facing the backlash, Daisy issued a statement to clarify her actions.
“I felt I needed to explain myself after seeing the controversy,” she said. “I attended at the invitation of the mall, and everything I did was pre-planned with the organizers.”
She went on to clarify that she wasn’t paid for the appearance. “My only intention was to help promote Rosé, and I didn’t receive any money for this. If my actions were inappropriate, I will reflect on them and be more careful in the future.”
