Rosé has been named Global Hitmaker of the Year by Variety, one of the most influential entertainment outlets in the United States.
Rosé received the honor at the 2025 Hitmakers ceremony held on December 6th (local time) in Los Angeles. The Hitmakers Awards spotlight the musicians behind the most popular, impactful songs of the year.
Winning Global Hitmaker of the Year marks a rare milestone for a K-pop female soloist, as Rosé’s achievements with her global smash “APT.” and her first full album rosie continue to garner recognition across major U.S. media.
Accepting the trophy in person, Rosé said, “This past year has been an absolute explosion of surprises with an overwhelming amount of love, especially through my song ‘APT.’ Watching it take off has been equally fascinating and, might I say, a tiny bit of a mindf*ck.” She went on to thank the team at The Black Label for supporting her during an unbelievably busy year and expressed appreciation for her mentor, producer Teddy.
“APT.” sparked a worldwide phenomenon immediately after release, topping charts across the globe and breaking records. Rosé also made history at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, becoming the first K-pop artist to win Song of the Year—one of the ceremony’s top honors.
Her momentum continued when she earned nominations in two major categories at the Grammy Awards: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance—making her the first K-pop act to be nominated in two of the Grammys’ premier fields.
Meanwhile, Rosé is keeping busy with BLACKPINK’s world tour DEADLINE.
